Introduction
What Elyv does, what it does not do, and how these docs are organised.

What Elyv is
Elyv is an investigation platform. You give it one identifier, a username, an email, a phone number, a domain, an IP address, a full name, an IBAN, a wallet or a company, and it checks the sources that can say something about it: more than 1,400 sites for a username, over 2,000 fediverse instances, more than 550 lookup modules and a breach index. Law enforcement, justice staff and mandated investigators can also get a verified account.
Everything it finds lands in one result, with the source of each value, and can be linked to other findings on a case board.
What it is not
- It is not a people finder for stalking or harassment. Accounts used that way are closed, see Responsible use.
- It does not hack, guess passwords or access private accounts.
- It does not keep its own copy of the internet. Sources are asked live when you search.
- It does not run an AI assistant. Correlations are computed from the values the sources return.
How to read these docs
The pages follow the order you meet things in the product:
- Start here: creating an account, plans and quotas.
- Using Elyv: searching, reading a result, modules, cases, history and Radar.
- Your account: profile, security, devices and preferences.
- Privacy and legal: what is stored, for how long, and your rights under the GDPR.
- Help: limits, errors and how to reach support.
